The Maryville Outreach Center consists of three ministries: Grandma's Attic, the Maryville food pantry, and the Residents' Assistance Program (RAP). The Outreach Center is supported by the Maryville Ministerial Alliance, which consists of six Maryville churches. All workers at the Outreach Center are unpaid volunteers.
Grandma's Attic is a thrift store that sells new or gently used items such as clothes, shoes, books, toys, games, small household items, and more. All items have been donated to the Attic and are sold at greatly reduced prices. The monies earned from the sales goes to support the food pantry and RAP program. The Attic also helps homeless individuals, fire victims, and anyone else in need in the community. The Attic is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am-12noon and Tuesday evenings from 5pm-7pm.
The food pantry is open to anyone who either lives in Maryville or in the Maryville water or fire districts, has a child in a Maryville school, or attends a Maryville church at least twice a month. There are no financial restrictions to receive food. Clients are eligible to receive food twice a month as well as special "baskets" for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Pantry clients are currently being served by appointment for curbside pickup. To schedule a pickup, please call 618-345-9693 and ask to be directed to the food pantry.
Our blessing box, located at the corner of the Maryville Police Department parking lot, is stocked with items from the pantry, and is open to the public.
The RAP program helps Maryville residents with such things as rent, utilities and bus tokens. To apply for assistance, call 618-345-9693 and leave a message.
